ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Two Allentown vice officers forced a woman to perform sexual acts on them in exchange for not arresting her, recently unsealed court documents allege.
Jason Krasley, 47, and Evan Weaver, 45, were indicted Friday on rape and prostitution-related charges.
Authorities allege they raped and sexually assaulted the same woman while working together on Allentown Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit from 2011 to 2015.
Weaver, of Weisenberg Township, is a sergeant on the city police force. He was placed on administrative leave, and the Allentown Police Department is conducting an internal investigation, Chief Charles Roca told LehighValleyNews.com Tuesday.
Krasley, of Upper Milford Township, left the department in 2021 and was fired in November from his job as an investigator for the U.S. Center for SafeSport.
Charges detailed in court docs
Lehigh County officials this week unsealed charging documents that detail the allegations against Krasley and Weaver.
Weaver was charged with seven felony counts, including kidnapping, rape, indecent sexual assault and witness intimidation, according to court records.
He also faces five misdemeanor charges, including patronizing prostitutes and indecent assault.
Each charge stems from an incident reported May 12, 2011.
Weaver is accused of sexually assaulting a woman whose boyfriend was the target of a narcotics and drug investigation by Vice officers.
Weaver told the woman she “could do things to help herself out” and then forced her to perform oral sex on him.Charging documents filed against Evan Weaver
Police separated the woman from her boyfriend, who was then taken to the police station for processing; but Weaver drove the woman in an unmarked car to “a spot under some type of cover,” according to court documents.
Weaver told the woman she “could do things to help herself out” and then forced her to perform oral sex on him, prosecutors allege in charging documents.
She was released that day and was never charged, prosecutors said.
Weaver “continued to obtain sexual favors” from the woman over the next four years, charging documents show.
Same woman assaulted in 2015: Charges
Krasley faces nine charges, including involuntary servitude, rape with forcible compulsion, indecent assault and patronizing prostitutes, Lehigh County court documents show.
All nine charges have the same offense date: Feb. 1, 2015.
Krasley arranged a meeting that day with a prostitute as part of his job with the Vice unit, documents say.
But after identifying himself as an Allentown police officer, he told the woman, “You know what you need to do” to stay out of jail, according to charging documents.
Krasley forced the woman onto a bed and raped her; he stopped when Weaver entered the room, court documents allege.
Krasley and Weaver were released Saturday from Lehigh County Jail after posting 10% of their $750,000 and $900,000 bail amounts, respectively.Lehigh County court documents
Weaver then forced the woman to perform oral sex when Krasely left the room, prosecutors allege.
She was the same woman Weaver allegedly assaulted in May 2011, court documents indicate.
Krasley and Weaver were released Saturday from Lehigh County Jail after posting 10% of their $750,000 and $900,000 bail amounts, respectively.
Krasley also faces felony theft charges after authorities last year accused him of stealing thousands of dollars while on the job as an Allentown Vice officer.
