An 86-year-old Allentown man died Saturday, Jan. 25, more than two decades after he was hit by a school bus on Tilghman Street.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — An Allentown man died Saturday from injuries he suffered when he was hit by a school bus 23 years ago, according to the Lehigh County coroner.

Nassim Younes, 86, was struck by a bus on the afternoon of Jan. 4, 2002 while crossing the road in the 300 block of Tilghman Street, Coroner Daniel Buglio said Tuesday.

"Younes was 'care-dependent' for the rest of his life and in and out of hospitals for treatment."

Younes suffered a traumatic brain injury in the crash that day, according to the coroner, who ruled his death an accident.

Younes was "care-dependent" for the rest of his life and was in and out of hospitals for treatment, Buglio told LehighValleyNews.com.

Allentown Police Department did not immediately respond Tuesday afternoon to a request for more information about the January 2002 crash and Younes’ condition over the past two decades.

This developing story will be updated with more information.
