ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Two men — one a current Allentown police officer and the other a former city Vice officer — were charged Friday in connection with sexual crimes reported to have occurred a decade or more ago.
Evan Weaver, 45, of Weisenberg, and Jason Krasley, 47, of Upper Mildford Township, face felony charges of rape and involuntary sexual servitude, as well as misdemeanor counts of indecent assault, official oppression and prostitution, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.
Weaver is a sergeant on Allentown’s police force, while Krasley worked with the city’s Vice and Intelligence Unit. He left the department in 2021 and most recently worked as an investigator for the U.S. Center for SafeSport.

Both were in custody Friday afternoon, awaiting their arraignments at the Lehigh County Central Booking Center, officials said.
Krasley faces three further felony charges — kidnapping, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and intimidation of a witness — and a misdemeanor charge of criminal coercion.
Authorities said the charges stem from crimes that took place between 2011 and 2015.
“Both men are charged with raping and sexually assaulting the same victim,” the DA’s office said.
Charging documents against Weaver and Krasley were sealed. They face a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted on charges of rape and involuntary sexual servitude, according to the release.
Weaver was placed on administrative leave and an internal investigation is being updated, said Assistant Chief James Gress.
"The Allentown Police Department takes all complaints either internal or external seriously and conducts full and thorough investigations related to the same," Gress said in a prepared statement. "The Allentown Police Department has been and will continue to cooperate with the Lehigh County District Attorney as well as any other investigative agency."
Krasley was fired by Denver-based SafeSport after his arrest in November on theft charges, the Associated Press reported.
More charges against former Vice cop
Krasley was accused last year of stealing thousands of dollars while working as a city Vice officer.
He was charged with felony counts of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property over $2,000 and a misdemeanor charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
Authorities allege Krasley stole $5,500 during a May 2019 search at a Hamilton Street barbershop while Vice officers were looking for evidence of illegal drug trafficking.
Court documents state an initial inventory receipt showed cops seized $16,000 in cash from the barbershop, but a later receipt indicated $10,500 was found.
Krasley was one of several Allentown officers involved in the search, according to an affidavit.
"An investigation into the missing money has determined that Krasley stole the money,” that document states, but charges were not filed for more than five years.
A whistleblower lawsuit filed by two current officers against the city and its police department details which alleged theft and a second incident where $20,000 went missing after a Vice search.
Krasley was one of two Vice officers who filed the inventory paperwork from that search, according to the suit.
He is due in Lehigh County Court on Jan. 29 for a preliminary hearing on those charges.
