ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The 3-year-old boy who was shot and killed Thursday in Allentown was identified Friday morning by the Lehigh County coroner.
Elijah Abreu Borgen died at 12:44 p.m. Thursday, according to Coroner Daniel Buglio.
That's about 45 minutes after Allentown police responded to reports of a shooting at a home in the 900 block of East Hamilton Street.
Inside, they found Borgen suffering from a gunshot wound, Allentown Police Department said in a release.
The boy was taken to a hospital, where he died Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.
Elijah died from a gunshot wound to his body, but the manner of his death remains under investigation, Buglio said after an autopsy was performed Friday.
