UPDATE: 'Mountain lion' sighting turns out to be a house cat, Pa. Game Commission says
LOWER MACUNGIE TWP. — Pennsylvania State Police are warning folks to alert authorities after a possible mountain lion was spotted in a township field Sunday.
State police were called to the Village Round development around 11:45 a.m. Sunday to meet someone who had images of a large cat in the area, according to state police spokesman Trooper Nathan Branosky.
Upon further investigation, state police believe it was the image of a large feline — possibly a mountain lion — in fields behind Hanover Drive, according to Branosky.
State police notified the Pennsylvania Game Commission. A Game Commission representative could not immediately be reached for comment.

State police ask that if the animal is spotted or if anyone has further information, they contact the Game Commission at 610-926-3136 or state police at Fogelsville at 610-395-1438.
The cat should not be approached, according to state police.
On its website, the Game Commission says it periodically receives reports and photos of mountain lions. But it says its investigations have determined the overwhelming number of mountain lion sightings are actually bobcats.
The last known wild eastern mountain lion in Pennsylvania was in Berks County in the 1870s, according to the Game Commission.
