The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley has announced a new public art opportunity worth $20,000.

As part of its rebranding campaign, the shopping center is seeking proposals from skilled artists to design and create a large mural on the two west-facing curved block walls adjacent to the AMC movie theater.

The mural will occupy roughly 500 square feet of wall space.

The center management, ownership and stakeholders will choose the artist or artist team.

Applicants should have experience working in public locations that are subject to vandalism and extreme weather. Local and regional artists are preferred.

The RFP is available online, and proposals are due no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 17.

Proposals should be submitted via email to Natalia Stezenko, general manager of The Promenade Shops.

The chosen artist will be announced in May.

The mural will be expected to be completed and installed in June 2023.
