EASTON, Pa. — A vending machine at Easton Public Market doesn't sell your typical snack. In fact, nothing it sells is edible at all.
Instead, for $1, you'll get a pop of color created by local artists.
The Easton Pocket Gallery, an art vending machine, will feature tiny treasurers of artwork and prints by artists such as Patricia Porter, Ken Kewleyand Tom Smaldone.
It will be on display starting at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21.
Porter, who co-founded Connexions Gallery on Northampton Street, organized the event.
She has curated other projects at the Easton Public Market (325 Northampton St.) on a wall across from Rod's Dogs space.
According to Porter, the vending machine was bought by the Greater Easton Development Partnership.
The cost of accessing the art (which comes in the form of a colorful paper card) is four quarters.
Since the art pieces will be dispensed randomly, some shoppers may score an original piece from Smaldone's "Chalkborg" series or a card that offers a free workshop with Kewley, a collage artist.
