BETHLEHEM, Pa. — ArtsQuest's Cars & Coffee series is headed into classic territory.
The free annual spring and summer events that monthly motors onto the SteelStacks campus to let cars be admired by thousands of auto enthusiasts will return for a 10th year, ArtsQuest said.
Opening day is scheduled 9 a.m. to noon April 13. Subsequent shows will be May 4, June 15, July 13, Aug. 24 and Sept. 21.
Featured cars range from classic cars to unique, exotic vehicles. Each month highlights a different car theme, such as imports, American Muscle and European.
On the days of the events, the Mack Truck Stop at the Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks will sell beverages and breakfast sandwiches by Levy Restaurants, the food and beverage partner of ArtsQuest.
A community gathering
Cars & Coffee, founded by Dan Kendra and Dr. Johnny Chung with the goal of bringing car collectors together to showcase their prized vehicles in a fun, laid-back environment.
The first Cars and Coffee took place in 2013 at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, before outgrowing its home and moving to SteelStacks a few years later.
The event has evolved into a community gathering among Lehigh Valley car enthusiasts.
"As we approach this year’s upcoming Cars & Coffee events, I want to remind all participants to prioritize safety and be mindful of the community,” Bethlehem Police Department Chief of Police Michelle Kott said.
“These events are a great opportunity for car enthusiasts to come together and share their passion, and it's important that everyone follows traffic laws and remains respectful of our neighborhoods.
"Our department will be present to ensure a safe environment for everyone, and we encourage all attendees to use good judgment. We look forward to this year’s events.”
