The Archer Music Hall, expected to open in early 2025, appears to have booked its first act.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Archer Music Hall, the new concert venue readying to open in downtown Allentown, on Monday announced 20 concerts as its initial lineup.

The broad range includes an all-star revue of New Orleans musicians that headlined Musikfest's main stage, an iconic original punk band and an early 2000s teen chart-topper.

Shows at The Archer will kick off with gold-selling Brazilian metal band Cavalera on March 8, a show LehighValleyNews.com previously announced.

That will be followed by a March 14 show by comedian Jim Norton.

“We’re looking forward to inviting fans into the Archer for the first time with a lineup of dynamic artists and entertainment – with more to be added in the coming weeks,” said Geoff Gordon, President of Live Nation’s Northeast Region.

“From the soulful Lake Street Dive to the multi-instrumentalist Kishi Bashi, and the comedic brilliance of Jim Norton, we’ve curated performances that will resonate with live entertainment lovers of all tastes across the Lehigh Valley.”

Tickets for all the shows will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at The Archer website.

The Archer said more shows are to be announced soon.

“For years, Archer Music Hall has been a hope and a vision. Now, with shows announcing and tickets going on sale, it is a reality,” said J.B. Reilly, President of City Center Group, the
real estate developer behind The Archer.

“It is incredibly exciting to know that we are just weeks away from opening the doors and starting a new era in Downtown Allentown."

'World-class venue'

For months now, developers and operators of The Archer have described it as a state-of-the-art entertainment venue at 935-939 Hamilton St.

The 31,000-square-foot music hall “will attract a diverse slate of touring artists to the Lehigh Valley,” operators Live Nation has said.

The Archer, with its 1,600-capacity main performance space and 500-capacity venue called Arrow inside, has said it will present three or four shows by national touring acts each week.

Officials have said it’s designed to attract events too small for the nearby PPL Center, which can hold about 10,000 people.

“Archer Music Hall will be a world-class concert venue, unlike anything in the region, so it’s fitting that the worldwide leader in live entertainment, Live Nation, will operate the venue," Reilly said.

Reilly told LehighValleyNews.com in 2023 that The Archer could sell more than 240,000 tickets a year. That would make it one of the busiest clubs of its size in the United States.
