ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Allentown's planned The Archer music venue has taken another step forward in its development.
The concert hall, which developers have called a state-of-the-art entertainment venue at 935-939 Hamilton St., now has an operational website.
"Archer Music Hall, the premier venue located in the heart of Downtown Allentown, adjacent to both Philadelphia and New York City, will be the cultural hub of Allentown," says the website, which went live in the past few days.
The Archer now also has a social media presence on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. None have any posts yet.
"Live music that hits the mark."The Archer Music Hall's official slogan
It even has a slogan: "Live music that hits the mark." (Archer, hits the mark — get it?)
What is doesn't have? Any publicly announced shows. Some websites that list upcoming concerts, including Ticketmaster, list The Archer but no shows for it.
Live Nation, the country's top music promoter — developers announced in October that Live Nation will book shows and operate the new venue — said then that between The Archer's main concert hall and its smaller Arrow club room, it anticipated to hold more than 200 shows each year.
The website says the venue still plans to open in "early 2025." Officials previously said it would open in February.
The Archer also apparently doesn't have some of its top positions filled.
Live Nation still is listing open jobs for key venue positions such as operations manager, production manager, box office manager, marketing manager and special events sales manager.
No assigned seats or smoking
The new website reveals a few operational details about The Archer, such as most events will be general admission standing and seating, which will be first-come, first-serve.
Parking will be on the street or at "several paid lots (are) located nearby."Archer Music Hall website
Parking will be on the street or at "several paid lots (are) located nearby," it says.
Not surprisingly, the website says Archer Music Hall and its 500-capacity smaller performance room, Arrow, will be "completely non-smoking venues," the website says.
It says everyone age 3 and older will need a ticket for entry, and urges patrons to "provide ear protection for children." Age requirements will differ depending on the event.
Once inside the venue, you won't be able to leave and re-enter.
Professional photo or video equipment with detachable lenses will be prohibited, but personal point-and-shoot cameras or cellphones will be OK.
Among other items that will be prohibited are: selfie sticks; weapons of any kind (even toys); masks; laser pointers; glow sticks; LED gloves or microlights; metal studded or spiked clothing, jewelry and accessories; and large purses, bags, backpacks or drawstring bags.
A coat check will be available.
'Nothing short of extraordinary'
The venue also will be available for private events.
"Whether you’re hosting a corporate event, private concert, or social celebration, our team is committed to delivering an exceptional experience," the website says.
"Archer Music Hall and Arrow can accommodate up to 2,125 guests, ensuring your event is nothing short of extraordinary."
Live Nation in October said The Archer “will bring an incredible amount of foot traffic to the neighborhood" in downtown Allentown.
To support the venue, Live Nation will create more than 200 permanent jobs with base pay starting at $20/hour for all staff.
“Archer Music Hall will be a world-class concert venue, unlike anything in the region, so it’s fitting that the worldwide leader in live entertainment, Live Nation, will operate the venue," J.B. Reilly, president of City Center Group, which is building the venue, said then.
"The Archer will play a significant role in downtown Allentown’s vibrancy, economy and prominence, and Live Nation is the perfect group to help re-energize the Downtown West neighborhood.”
