Here are our faves at the 'Fest, now in its 40th year.
Roasted corn, flavorful gyros
Some of the festival's longest-serving vendors can be found at Plaza Tropical.
Ask any local or longtime festival-goer, and they'll tell you the roasted corn on the cob from Aw! Shucks is a must-try. Grilled to perfection, the secret is in the spice.
For authentic Cuban eats, try the ham croquetas, Cuban sandwich, and yuca fries from Cubano X-Press. Seriously, chef Henry Sanchez makes some of the best bites north of Havana.
Fans of Greek eats will dig the lamb gyro from Theo's, topped with onions, tomato, lettuce, fried potatoes and the perfect amount of tzatziki, rolled in a giant pita.
Noodles of joy, arroz con pollo
Over at Handwerkplatz, you'll find one of the festival's most well-known vendors.
Don't pass up a snack from Hogar Crea of Freemansburg.
The food stand has been serving food at Musikfest since the 1980s and offers yummy plates of Latin dishes such as chicken, rice and beans and shish kebabs.
Arguably one of the best spots to eat (watch out for long lines!) is Island Noodles (There is also a location at SteelStacks).
The mobile truck cooks fresh on the spot using a large wok where inside can be found 21 different types of fresh veggies, soba noodles and a secret sauce. Teriyaki chicken and vegan options are available. Chopsticks, optional.
Say 'oui' to these options
FestPlatz is where to go for savory German-inspired recipes and other snacks.
Philly-based French Toast Bites sells crispy delights fried to perfection and topped with whipped cream.
Foodies love Heidi's Braided Strudel. The melt-in-your-mouth pastries are filled with cherry and apple gooeyness - yum!
Of course, no festival meal would be complete without a bite of bratwurst.
At Karl Ehmers, folks can fill their bellies with German sausages and other meaty sandwiches.
For dessert, head to Philly Waffle Cabin. The stand bakes fluffy Belgian waffles topped with ice cream, dark chocolate drizzle, marshmallows and other sweet stuff.
Still hungry?
For some grab-and-fold action,Take a Taco is a Musikfest mainstay that delivers customers soft shell tacos with meats and fish, taco bowls and garlic parmesan perogie fries.
Speaking of fries, the Flying V is back this year (the eatery also has a location at SteelStacks, near Americaplatz) with a new poutine menu that includes sharable options for both vegans and meat lovers.
What to try: The chicken ranch bacon poutine or the Veg will satisfy those cravings.
