The race weekend will feature high-speed TQ midgets —race cars powered by motorcycle engines — competing in main events on both nights on a 1/10th-mile oval track set up on the arena floor.
In addition, the weekend will showcase two support divisions: Slingshots and Champ Karts.
Organizers said "a new star emerged" in the racing ranks when Tanner VanDoren, a young driver from Schnecksville, recently "unexpectedly stole the TQ Midget A-Main victory."
There also will be pre-race FanFest on the arena floor, where those with 100-level reserved seats can walk the track and meet the drivers 5-6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Once again, two racing programs including qualifying and feature events will be held on back-to-back nights, headlined by the TQ Midgets. Champ Karts will be Jan. 3 and Slingshots on Jan. 4.
PPL Center first held Indoor Auto Racing in January 2016.
