ALLENTOWN, Pa. — One of four local teens will be crowned Allentown Fair Queen this week.
Wednesday, Aug. 28, marks both opening night for the 172nd annual event and the queen crowning.
Last year, Kamryn Fink of Germansville took home the title and a $1,500 scholarship, which this year's contestants also have a chance at winning.
These are the finalists and their backgrounds, provided by the Allentown Fair:
Olivia Wisser
Olivia Wisser, 17, is a daughter of Amy and Jason Wisser of New Tripoli.
She is a senior at Northwestern Lehigh High School, where she is on the honor roll and recently was chosen junior drum major for Northwestern Lehigh Tiger marching band.
Outside of school, Olivia has won various awards in 4-H. At the 2024 Schnecksville Fair, she received Supreme Champion Dairy beef steer, along with Reserve Champion Showman in both Dairy cattle and Dairy beef.
She is involved in the school newspaper, Lehigh County 4-H Dairy Club (president and secretary), Lehigh County 4-H Livestock Club, Lehigh County 4-H Teen Council (secretary) and Lehigh County 4-H Programming Development Committee.
Her career goal is to attend college to pursue a position as herd manager for a dairy farm.
Cyani Gonzalez
Cyani Gonzalez, 18, is a daughter of Jeannette Cruz of Allentown.
She is a 2024 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, where she was on the honor roll. While there, she received the Citizen Peace and Most Likely to Succeed with the Most Positive Attitude Award.
She is a freshman at Northampton Community College majoring in early childhood education with a minor in special education. She is involved in competitive dance, color guard, Eco club, mock trial and debate team, baton twirling, tennis, and cheerleading.
She has volunteered at Drum Corps International, S.T.A.R. animal shelter, Monocacy Park tree planting and trash removal.
After graduating college, she plans to become an elementary school teacher.
Atong Madok
Atong Madok, 18, is a daughter of Maieek Madok of Allentown.
She is a 2024 graduate of William Allen High School. During her time there, she participated in the early college program that let her get an associate’s degree at Lehigh Carbon Community College before graduating high school.
At LCCC, she was on the Dean’s List and received the Outstanding Writer Scholarship and Mentzell Scholarship.
Atong is an upcoming freshman at Kutztown University, majoring in cellular/micro niology.
She is involved in tennis, art club, track, Trio Upward Bound club, and film club. Her passion is creative writing. She volunteers at the Second Harvest Food Bank.
Her career goal is to get a degree in biology.
Zoie Jones
Zoie Jones, 17, is a daughter of Heather Chapkovitch and Eric Jones of Kutztown.
She is a senior at Kutztown Area High School, where she is involved in wildlife sciences through the FFA program.
She received first place for Wildlife Career Development Events and also was on the Envirothon Team, which won first place and went to the state competition, and on which she received third place for public speaking.
Zoie has won the Small Animal Manager Award, Greenhand Degree, Chapter Scholarship Award, Chapter Leadership Award, Chapter Degree and Creed Speaking Contest.
She is involved with the swim team, track and field, cross country, volleyball and fishing club. She loves insects and has a beehive from which she just started harvesting honey.
She plans to major in wildlife biology in college.
