Seize the end of summer by spending your Labor Day weekend this way

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Summer is reaching its conclusion as the Labor Day weekend approaches.

To bid the season farewell, here is a list of activities and events scheduled throughout Sept. 2-4, spanning the Lehigh Valley.

Concert series

Levitt Pavilion Summer Concert Series
When: Saturday, Sept. 2 starting at 7:30 p.m.
Where: 645 E. First Street, Bethlehem (Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks).
What: Music performance by the roots duo Chatham Rabbits. Learn more here.
Admission: Free.

The Summer Concert Series presented by Borough of Emmaus
When: Sunday, Sept. 3 starting at 6:00 p.m.
Where: 1701 Shimerville Road, Suite 205, Emmaus (Emmaus Main Street Partners).
What: Music performance by the female vocal group The Swingtime Dolls. Check out the group here.
Admission: Free.

Concert Series at The Wilds
When: Saturday, Sept. 2 starting from 5-8 p.m.
Where: 3236 W Lizard Creek Road, Lehighton.
What: Music performance by Band of Brothers.
Admission: Free, but a $5 donation is encouraged.

Swim

Check out our coverage of open swimming pools around the area. Most of the pools will close at the end of the Labor Day holiday.

Allentown Fair

When: Monday, Sept. 4 from Noon–9 p.m.
Where: 302 N 17th St., Allentown (Allentown Fairground).
What: Agriculture, rides, games, shows, musical performances, international cuisine and more.
Admission: $10 for ages 13 and up; free for ages 12 and younger. More information on special admissions will be announced by Allentown Fair. Learn more here.

Museums

When: Sept. 2-3 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: 31 N. Fifth St., Allentown (Allentown Art Museum).
What: The New American Gallery as well as Fashion As Experiment: The '60s, a special exhibition. Visit here for more information.
Admissions: Free.

Outdoor events

Wildlands Conservancy – Wild at Minsi 2023!
When: Saturday, Sept. 2 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Where: 49 Blue Mountain Drive, Bangor (Minsi Lake).
What: Canoeing at and learning about Lake Minsi.
Admission: Free. Learn more here.

Easton Historic District Walking Tour
When: Saturday, Sept. 2 from 2-3 p.m.
Where: 342 Northampton St., Easton (Sigal Museum).
What: Exploring hidden local histories of Northampton County and learning about the community.

Guided Horseback Rides
When: Sept. 2-3 from 12-7 p.m.
Where: 804 S. Oaks Road, Bath (Lehigh Valley Horseback Trail Rides).
What: A 1-hour trail ride that has 2-6 people per ride to enjoy the view of Bath.

Volunteer Opportunity

Canal Park Cleanup Walk
When: Saturday, Sept. 2 from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Where: 101 E. Walnut St., Allentown (Canal Park)
What: Wildlands Conservancy Bike and Boat staff and Promise Neighborhoods collaborate on cleaning up the D&L trail and historic Lehigh Canal.
