ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The summer of 2024 will be the age of dinosaurs in the Queen City.

Months after the Da Vinci Science Center at PPL Pavilion opens its doors downtown with Dinos Alive, another interactive dinosaur event will move in down the street.

The Allentown Fairgrounds Agri-Plex is set to play host to Jurassic Quest from July 5-7, it was announced Wednesday.

The three-day event will provide an “unforgettable adventure, transporting families through 165 million years of the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods,” a release said.

General admission tickets are available now at www.jurassicquest.com at $22 for ages 11-64.

Also available are $36 kids tickets that include exhibit admission; unlimited access to dinosaur rides, Jurassic Jeeps, fossil dig and most dinosaur themed inflatable attractions; and one visit to excavation station.

Entry is free for those younger than 2.

‘The largest’ exhibit on tour

Jurassic Quest dubs itself “the largest and most realistic dinosaur exhibit on tour,” with true-to-detail dinosaurs that are lifelike and scientifically accurate.

That’s in comparison to the Jurassic World Live Tour, which visited Allentown’s PPL Center for six performances from Nov. 17-19 last fall.

According to the release, the Jurassic Quest show will offer:

  • Dinosaurs that move and roar
  • Live dinosaur shows all day
  • The largest rideable dinosaurs in North America
  • Interactive science and art activities including a giant fossil dig
  • Real fossil exhibits featuring T-Rex teeth, a triceratops horn and a life-size dino skull
  • A “Tricera-tots” soft play area for the littlest explorers
  • Bounce houses and inflatable attractions
  • Photo opportunities, face painting, and more

New for 2024

The Jurassic Quest visit will have new attractions for 2024, including “Raptor Run” races and “Rope-a-Raptor,” where kids can help lasso stray dinosaurs and lead them back to their pens.

Other highlights include an interactive Raptor Training Experience, scavenger hunt-style activities and video tours with dino trainers available onsite or via a QR code on your phone.

Jurassic Quest said it works in collaboration with leading paleontologists to ensure its dinosaurs are "painstakingly replicated in every detail," the release said.

It lets guests "experience them as they were when they roamed Earth millions of years ago."
