BETHLEHEM, Pa. — It was a Christmas "Miracle" indeed.
Wes Brown, star of several of Hallmark Channel's holiday movies, filmed a segment for the cable network at Christkindlmarkt on Thursday, Dec. 14.
The actor was joined by a small TV crew at ArtsQuest's German-inspired holiday market around 5 p.m.
ArtsQuest posted on Facebook earlier in the day that a cable network was filming at Christkindlmarkt, but did not disclose which one.
Upon entry, a sign on the venue's doors disclosed that filming was "actively in progress."
Brown, who has appeared in Hallmark's "Christmas in Mississippi" and "Christmas Cookies," posed for photos with a few of his "merry and bright" fans.
The 'spirit' of Christmas
While ArtsQuest and the Hallmark Channel did not comment on why or what Brown was filming, the handsome actor, who donned a plaid coat and matching scarf, walked up and down the corridor of one of the heated tents and spoke on camera about the "spirit" of Christmas in Bethlehem.
His visit may be related to the Hallmark Channel's upcoming film, "Miracle in Bethlehem, Pa," which was shot entirely in Winnipeg, Canada.
The movie airs 8 p.m., Dec. 21 on the Hallmark Movie & Mysteries channel.
Cozy and romantic at the Star Inn
Earlier in December, the cable network released a trailer for the flick that showed its main character, Mary Ann (Laura Vandervoort) arriving at the made-up Bethlehem Star Inn with her newborn baby, Natalie.
The quaint inn is at capacity, but the owner recommends Mary Ann stay with her brother, Joe (Benjamin Ayres) in a spare room at his home.
On the network's website, they call Joe's house "less than tidy" but he tries to make Mary Ann and her daughter, Natalie feel at home.
The family-friendly movie is from DaySpring, a production company known for its faith-based plots and romantic, warm and fuzzy storytelling.
It’s among 42 movies premiering across Hallmark’s two networks this Christmas.
Upon learning of Hallmark Channel's choice to film "Miracle in Bethlehem, Pa," in Manitoba, Canada, Hollywood actor and Lehigh Valley Native Daniel Roebuck announced he was also filming a faith-based movie entitled, "St. Nick of Bethlehem" on location in Christmas City.
Locations include the Historic Hotel Bethlehem, Saint Luke's Children Hospital, the Kiffle Kitchen Bakery in Bath, the Star of Bethlehem, Christkindlmarkt at SteelStacks and other businesses on Main Street.
The production team wrapped up filming in November and will return in March to finish (and before the Christmas magic melts into spring).
