LOS ANGELES, Calif. — "The Voice" fans were not shy about voting for this hometown singer.
Shye Roberts, a Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts graduate, is one of five singers headed to the "The Voice" finals.
The 18-year-old, on Team Michael Bublé, will compete in season 26's finale, which airs on Monday, Dec. 9 on NBC.
After her powerful rendition of Brandi Carlile's "The Joke" in Monday's semifinals, fans were able to vote for Roberts and seven other finalists via the show's website and "The Voice" app.
She also performed a duet, "Fields of Gold," with fellow finale contestant Sydney Sterlace, aided by the song's original singer, Sting. The Police frontman was a guest mentor on the show earlier this season.
On Tuesday after "The Voice" host Carson Daly announced Roberts' name, Bublé jumped from his chair to congratulate the singer.
"You've got this," Bublé told her as the two embraced in a hug.
Roberts has been a favorite of Bublé's this season.
He's called her lovable and unique and compared her vocal range to late singers Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn and pop star Adele.
If she wins, Roberts will take home a cash prize of $100,000 and a recording contract.
After the finale episode airs on Dec. 9, fans can cast another vote to determine the winner.
"The Voice" Season 26 champion will then be unveiled on Tuesday, Dec. 10 on NBC.
The others hoping to be crowned winner are: Sterlace on Team Gwen Stefani, Jeremy Beloate on Team Snoop Dogg, Sofronio Vasquez on Team Bublé and Danny Joseph on Team Reba McEntire.
Shye's road to "The Voice" finals
After a soulful rendition of One Direction's "Story of My Life," Roberts advanced to this week's live rounds last week.
Roberts wowed Bublé and advanced in the battle rounds on Oct. 28 with a rendition of Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself."
The battle rounds began on Oct. 21 with Bublé and fellow coaches McEntire, Stefani and Snoop Dogg.
Her blind audition, which aired on Oct. 8, was a euphonious cover of Five for Fighting's "Superman (It's Not Easy)," which got a four-chair turn from the judges.
Roberts, her mom Sheila, and her stepdad moved to Bethlehem in 2023 from Glen Cove on Long Island, New York.
She finished her senior year at Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts during the 2023-24 academic year.
At the charter school, she was a member of the treble and touring choir and performed at their coffeehouse performances at Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem.
