PALMYRA, Pa. — A.S.K. Foods, Inc., a food production company based in the commonwealth has issued a voluntary recall for a food item.

The company's 30 oz. containers of Wegmans Penne Rigate Mozzarella Salad were found to have a potential presence of undeclared milk.
Individuals with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk could experience a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product, as announced by the organization.
The affected pasta salad was exclusively sold at Wegmans stores located in New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts.
The recalled salad is packaged in a plastic container with labeling indicating "Penne Rigate Mozzarella Salad, Net Wt 30 OZ (1 LB 14 OZ) 850 g" on the top lid label, and the container's side label states "Macaroni Salad, Net Wt 40 OZ (2 LB 8 OZ) 1.13 kg." The lid of the recalled product bears the code "3515-2" and the "USE BY 06/1/23" information.

So far, no illnesses associated with the consumption of the recalled product have been reported.
The issue was brought to the attention of store personnel who discovered that the ingredient statement on the packaging for the Macaroni Salad does not include milk, an allergen present in the Penne Rigate Mozzarella Salad.
