LOWER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. — A popular Louisiana-based chicken finger fast food chain is set to open its doors to the Lehigh Valley in August.
Raising Cane's will open at 6240 Hamilton Blvd. in Lower Macungie on Tuesday, Aug. 6. Workers were at the location Thursday and confirmed the opening date.
It's one of 10 locations in Pennsylvania, out of the company's 700 stores nationwide.
The next closest Raising Cane's is about 40 miles away in Willow Grove, Pa.
The store — which sits next to the Wawa Drive Thru and in front of Movie Tavern Trexlertown — is hiring for late-night crew members, customer service associates and cashiers. It will feature a double drive-through.
The fast food chain's restaurant was approved at a Lower Macungie Township meeting last August.
"I'm excited that retailers like Topgolf and Raising Cane's are choosing Lower Macungie as their first ventures in the Lehigh Valley," Brian Higgins, Lower Macungie Township commissioners' president, previously said.
