UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. — Here's some buzzworthy Labor Day weekend fun for wine-lovers: SangriaFest Upper Macungie will return to Grange Park on Saturday.
The sippy shindig, now in its sixth year, will feature tastings from four local wineries, plus music, lawn games and food trucks.
Bottomless sangria, bacon on a stick
The 21-and-older event sold out last year — letting its organizers, ArtsQuest and Upper Macungie Township, expand the festival by adding more wineries and activities to the lineup.
Folks can enjoy bottomless samples in 12 varieties from Franklin Hill Vineyards in Bangor and Briengisville-based Clover Hill, Vynecrest and Stony Run wineries.
In addition, attendees can munch on bites from Bacon on a Stick, Island Noodles, Uno Taqueria, Batch MicroCreamery, Vitality Bowls and the Taste Smokers.
Businesses such as Sports and Social, 22 Peppers, CBD American Shaman and Whiz Spiegs Designs will be selling goodies including hot sauce and artisan crafts.
Tickets start at $44, or $39 for ArtsQuest members. Designated driver tickets (no alcohol sampling) start at $15.
The event runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. (It starts at 3 p.m. for premium access ticketholders.) Premium access tickets cost $79 and include four exclusive sangria samples, a catered menu, exclusive access to a private bar, air-conditioned restrooms and VIP parking.
Because of the limited number of tickets, buying in advance is recommended.
