Plants + Coffee in Easton will launch its fall specials in late August, which includes a coffee flight featuring a pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin roll chai and honey maple matcha.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Starbucks' pumpkin spice latte is back.

Starting Thursday, Aug. 22, customers can get their pumpkin kick from the coffee chain's pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin cream cold foam, iced pumpkin cream chai latte, pumpkin cream cheese muffin and pumpkin cream cold brew.

Nationally, Starbucks has sold "hundreds of millions" of pumpkin spice lattes over the past two decades, earning it the title of the chain's most popular "seasonal beverage of all time."

Other chains with Lehigh Valley stores like Wawa and Dunkin have already began selling pumpkin flavored coffee.

Here's when popular fall flavors are expected to make a comeback at local shops:

Year-round

Several coffee shops in the area keep pumpkin flavors on-hand year-round. Those shops include:

  • Deja Brew Coffeehouse and Deli (101 W. Fourth St., Bethlehem)
  • Art Beat Studio and Cafe (432 State Ave., Emmaus). The cafe also stays stocked with ingredients to make its caramel apple, salted caramel and toasted marshmallow specialty drinks.
  • Jay's Local (2301 Liberty St., Allentown)
  • Lit 610 Coffee Roastery and Bakeshop (26 E. Third St., Bethlehem)

Monday, Aug. 19

Java Joint in Trexlertown (7370 Hamilton Blvd.) is already prepped for fall and began offering its pumpkin spiced latte this week.

The drive-thru coffee shop's seasonal menu also currently offers pumpkin muffins, pumpkin pound cake and apple muffins. Other fall food items like pumpkin biscotti, apple hand pies, apple pie scones and apple dumplings will make a return shortly after.

Sunday, Aug. 25

In Easton, Plants + Coffee will launch its fall menu this Sunday.

Menu items include a pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin roll chai, honey maple matcha, maple bun latte and a fall coffee flight of the three coffees. The campfire latte — a toasted marshmallow and cookie butter flavored drink — will also stay on the menu.

"Early" September

She added that all drinks are available as de-caffeinated options and lattes can be made without coffee.
