Spotlight on local artists

Organizers say 90 works of art will be on display in honor of the Lehigh Art Alliance, or LAA, 90th anniversary.

The artists include Jimi Albert, Joy Barnes, Pat Bechtel, Karen Benco, Hence Bollinger, Jon Bond, Nancy Bossert, Figlio (Ron Bossert), Maureen Burger, Georgios C-Kyriakos, Joe Canto and Kat Collins.

Also, Preet Kaur, Mary Millan Klunk, Barbara Kozero, David Matzura, Rose Mavis, Moriah Mylod, Domenick Naccarato, Pat Panfile, Tom Panfile, Marcus Parasczcak, Carol Perlowski, Bennett Rambo and Emmanuel Vallejo

“Artists have made up a large part of Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites’ support over the years, and art is an important part of Bethlehem’s history, as reflected in our museum collections, which include artwork that dates back to the early Moravians," said Historic Bethlehem Museum & Site's vice president and managing director Lindsey Jancay.

“The GotArt! event is significant because not only is it a fundraiser for both of our organizations, it also shines the spotlight on our incredibly talented local artists and the vibrant arts community here in the Lehigh Valley."

This is the first year the benefit will take place at the Juxtahub, a community arts venue that opened in July.

Last year's GotArt! benefit, which occurred at the Luckenbach Mill in Bethlehem, featured 65 pieces created by local artists.

At the event, attendees will participate in a drawing to determine what piece of art they will take home (mediums include paintings, drawings, collages, ceramics and sculptures).

The works were donated by Lehigh Art Alliance member artists and other artists throughout the region.
