Bethlehem's Harvest Fest will feature singer Howie Day, who had the 2004 hit "Collide."

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A singer-songwriter who 20 years ago had a hit that spent a year on the charts will headline Bethlehem's Harvest Fest this month, it was announced.

Howie Day, whose 2004 song "Collide" sold four times platinum and helped his album "Stop All the World Now" reach platinum sales, will perform at the free annual street fair.

The festival will run from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 12 at Main and Broad streets.

Day will perform from 4-5 p.m. on the event's South Stage.

Performing on the festival's North Stage will be Emma Bockrath at noon and The Audio Files at 2:30 p.m.

The event will be rain or shine. In case of inclement weather, the South Stage acts will perform in 521 Main St., and the North Street acts in Lost Tavern Brewing (444 Main St.)

Harvest Fest also will feature soup, beer and wine trails offering up to 15 stations each.

A memorable hit

Day, 43, self-released his first album, "Australia," in 2000, and it surprisingly rose to No. 18 on the Heatseekers chart.

He signed with Epic Records for his sophomore disc, "Stop All the World Now," released in 2003.

"Collide "peaked at No. 7, more than a year after its release, after it was used on popular TV shows, including featured during episodes of "Scrubs," "ER," "One Tree Hill," "Grey's Anatomy" and more.
