Bethlehem Area Public Library book sale attracts people of all ages.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – For the Bethlehem Area Public Library, this sale is for the books.

The Bethlehem Area Public Library will host their annual Book Sale on Dec. 2 at the Main Library on Church St.

This year, the sales proceeds will directly benefit the continued use of library resources and services.

“One hundred percent of the proceeds of the BAPL book sale go towards supporting all five of our branches at the Bethlehem Area Public Library. The funds we raise support everything from our staff, programming, and efforts to provide relevant resources to the community,” said Amresse Farrow, marketing and development specialist for Bethlehem Area Public Library.

Farrow said that “book sale experts” curate the collection to have a variety of materials.

“We have over 20,000 books, CDs, DVDs, [vinyl] records, puzzles and first edition collectors’ pieces,” she said.

Farrow hopes that the sale will show that every community needs a library.

“Libraries are a pillar of the community and they are integral to the success, safety, entertainment, and educational advancement of many,” said Farrow.

Long gone are the days of a library being a room full of books. Now, our library and so many others are resource hubs that host music programs, community events, and so much more!”

“The BAPL Book Sale is not just a sale; it’s a community event where everyone can find something special for the holidays at a price that's hard to believe,” said Josh Berk, executive director of BAPL.
