MACUNGIE, Pa. — Just a month after winter's last snow deposit in the Lehigh Valley area, it looks like area ski resorts are winding down their seasons.

But it's on a good note.

Bear Creek Mountain Resort near Macungie said it will end its 2024-25 ski season on Saturday, March 15, after being open 97 ski days — which it said was one of its longest ski seasons ever.

Last season lasted just 69 ski days.

“This has been an incredible ski season to remember at Bear Creek.”

“This has been an incredible ski season to remember at Bear Creek,” resort General Manager Erin Visco said.

“We’re grateful to all of our hard-working team members and crew that prepared and maintained the slopes every day all season.

"We also want to thank all of our guests who had an amazing season with us at Bear Creek.”

A spokesperson for Blue Mountain Ski Area near Palmerton, Carbon County, said, "Typically, our ski/snowboard season lasts until mid- to late-March."

But that resort doesn't "know when we will close for this winter season as of yet," a spokesperson said.

Blue Mountain's website was not selling lift tickets past March 31.

Camelback Ski Area in Tannersville, Monroe County, did not immediately respond to messages seeking information on when its slopes will close.

But its website also was not selling lift tickets past March 31.

Bear Creek Mountain's season will end with a celebration featuring a DJ, prizes and a chance to win ski passes for next season, a hotel stay, a spa getaway and other prizes, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Bear Creek’s final weekend hours are until 9 p.m. today (Friday), 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 15, it will be open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Tickets are available on the ski area website.
