"Store Closing" signs pack the entrance of the Big Lots on Lehigh Street in Allentown.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Two leases for Big Lots stores in the Lehigh Valley are for sale, according to an online list.

The move comes after Big Lots announced it closed its sale agreement with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, which would let Variety Wholesalers acquire 200 to 400 Big Lots stores.

The brand currently operates over 900 stores.

The leases for stores at Big Lots stores at 2349 Lehigh St., Allentown, and 2631 Macarthur Road, Whitehall Township are for sale, according to a document uploaded by USA Today newspaper.

Big Lots said in December it... did "not anticipate completing its previously announced asset purchase agreement with Nexus Capital Management."

The document appears to be from the Gordon Bothers Retail Partners, which lists its contact information as biglotsrealestate@gordonbrothers.com.

The Lehigh Street lease — which offers 28,241 square feet — expires Jan. 31, 2034, and the Macarthur Road lease expires just five years earlier, in 2029.

The document lists remaining options for the 35,915-square-foot property lease as "5 + 5," though the first page of the PDF says all offers are due "no later than January 24, 2025."

Other stores in the Lehigh Valley that aren't listed on the document as having leases for sale include at 2192 W. Union Blvd., Bethlehem; and 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown.

There are 21 Big Lots leases in Pennsylvania for sale, according to the list.

The document also shows property sizes range from 18,963 to 54,933 square feet.

Prior to its sale to Gordon Brothers, Big Lots announced it intended "to facilitate its sale agreement to Nexus Capital Management," in September.

But it shared in December that it would move forward with going-out-of-business sales because it did "not anticipate completing its previously announced asset purchase agreement with Nexus Capital Management."
