- A community open house is happening on Aug. 5 about the new Northridge development plan
In September of 2022, State Sen. Pat Browne introduced a bill that allowed the 195-acre property be sold for about $5.5 million to the Center City Investment Corporation in Allentown.
It was a controversial move that raised flags. Opponents argued the sale should have happened through a competitive bid.
Center City Investment Corp. announced that it plans to bring a mix of housing units to that site, in a project now known as Northridge.
The postcards describe Northridge as a "new master-planned community," which is expected to include a mix of housing units plus possible retail and green space.
