BETHLEHEM TWP., PA — Johnny's Gyros will soon become Gyro Concept.
RE/MAX Unlimited agent Niko Kounoupis confirmed via email to LehighValleyNews.com that Gyro Concept signed a lease at the property.
It'll be the Greek restaurant's second local shop. The first Lehigh Valley location opened in Easton in March.
The small Bethlehem Township restaurant that held Johnny's Gyros, which operated for more than 30 years, in October was listed for sale, including the business name and physical contents, for $700,000.
"Our foundation lies in a profound commitment to authenticity, sourcing only the finest ingredients to craft dishes that capture the essence of Greece."Gyro Concept's website
Built in 1960, the 2722 Easton Ave. location includes a drive-thru, indoor seating, outdoor seating with picnic tables and on-site parking.
It also was available for lease with RE/MAX Unlimited on LehighValleyListed.com by agents Lynne Kounoupis and Niko Kounoupis.
"The building can be leased without the business name and equipment for $4,800 a month NNN (triple-net lease), offering flexibility for a new operator," the listing said.
About Gyro Concept
According to Gyro Concept's website, the restaurant first opened in Belleville, New Jersey. It's since expanded to 323 Cattell St. in Easton and will welcome a second New Jersey restaurant in Union City.
"Our foundation lies in a profound commitment to authenticity, sourcing only the finest ingredients to craft dishes that capture the essence of Greece," the website says.
"Beyond being just a restaurant, our mission is to become a culinary destination where patrons can immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Greek cuisine."
"While Johnny’s won’t continue at this location for the foreseeable future, Stan is considering bringing it back eventually, potentially through a food truck or at local events."RE/MAX Unlimited agent Niko Kounoupis
Gyro Concept's menu boasts of typical Greek fare, including — of course — gyros, dolmades, grilled halloumi, souvlaki, as well as pita wraps, bowls, desserts and even plant-based options.
Niko Kounoupis said the property's new lessee is currently renovating the space and plans "to open soon."
"As for the Johnny’s Gyros brand, it wasn’t sold or included in the lease agreement, so the name remains with the owner, Stan Kiniropoulos," Niko Kounoupis told LehighValleyNews.com via email.
