UPPER SAUCON TWP., Pa. — Jackie Basset, owner of FD Market, started her business in 2019 "to help bridge the gap," in sustainable resources in the Lehigh Valley.
More than five years later, Basset announced on the store's social media that she's "moved into a new chapter of my life, and I am genuinely so excited for what's next."
The sustainable refill shop will operate under normal hours through May 18, the post says.

Basset's business, which offered sustainable and eco-friendly beauty and care products such as body soaps, hair care, home & Living products, kitchen and cleaning products and more, took roots in the Emmaus triangle in 2019.
It later opened up FD Market Mobile in October 2020.
It was described as "a cargo van, converted into a market on wheels," fitted with a full "refillery and a selection of our favorite low waste items," according to a Facebook post.
Two years later, Basset announced FD Market would open a second location in Easton, saying in a Facebook post that, "Our entire team has fallen in love with the City of Easton through our time at the farmers market."

The following year, FD Market's Center Valley location opened replacing the "flagship" Emmaus location.
"We have our little group of people that like have loved what we're doing from the beginning and continue to show up and support us," Basset previously said of the move.
"So it was really easy for us to scale up. There are a lot of people that have been looking for a store like this, and there really isn't anything else similar in the Lehigh Valley."
The Promenade Saucon Valley shop housed many Earth Day and community-oriented events, such as candle-making workshops, shower steamer workshops and custom scent events.
"I started this business at 19 years old, and life looks a lot different for me now than it did then."Jackie Basset, owner of FD Market
Basset then announced in December 2023 that the sustainable shop's Easton location would close in the new year, pointing to "many unexpected hiccups" over two years since the location opened.
"I no longer have the team to be able to support both locations," the post read. "Maggie is my right hand girl and I know all of you in Easton love her. As we grow and shift, I need her talent with me in Center Valley."
In December, Basset shared that she was seeking new ownership of FD Market, saying she felt "ready to shift into a new chapter of my life."
"I started this business at 19 years old, and life looks a lot different for me now than it did then," the post says.
"Over the summer my sweetie took a job in NYC. The decision for me was easy — I decided to do “long distance” with the business instead of with him.
"We relocated in July and have quickly fallen in love with the area and living in a walkable community.
"I have been commuting back to the Lehigh Valley multiple times per month, for days or weeks at a time. It’s starting to take a toll on me both mentally and physically."
'Part of this journey'
In the April14 post, Basset said she will offer consulting services or store assets for a fee to any entrepreneurs interested in starting a refill store in the Lehigh Valley.
While FD Market's retail store will close, manufacturing and wholesale operations for the business will not.
"I can't begin to thank you enough for the last 5 1/2 years. This community has continued to show up over and over and over again."Jackie Basset, owner of FD Market
"I can't begin to thank you enough for the last 5 1/2 years," the store's most recent post reads. "This community has continued to show up over and over and over again.
"I am so grateful for each and every one of you and I now that thank you will never really be enough.
"... We'll be sharing more about our final weeks in the store soon. Until then, thank you for being part of this journey."
