A 17-year-old is set to face charges in the shooting death of Altaron Amir Robinson, 30, of Allentown. Robinson died Friday after being shot Thursday night, according to authorities.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A 30-year-old Allentown man died Friday after he was shot the night before, according to authorities.

Altaron Amir Robinson was pronounced dead at 3:22 p.m. Friday at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio announced Saturday morning.

Buglio ruled Robinson’s death a homicide and said an autopsy is scheduled to be performed Monday.

Robinson was shot just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of Butztown Road, near Governor Wolf Elementary School, authorities said.

Gianni Santini, 17, was arrested Friday night in connection with the shooting, police said, but details of his arrest were not immediately available.

Santini, who fled on foot, faces charges of homicide, aggravated assault and two counts of robbery, as well as firearms and weapons offenses, according to court records.

Santini will be charged as an adult, Northampton County District Attorney Stephen G. Baratta said.

“The shooting was not a random act,” Baratta said Friday.

The relationship between Santini and Robinson was not immediately clear Saturday morning.

Governor Wolf Elementary School was closed Friday while police investigated the shooting. School officials said the school played no role in the shooting but they decided to close as police investigated Friday.
