UPPER MILFORD TWP., Pa. — Thirty-nine new duplexes are on their way to Upper Milford after township supervisors approved final plans Thursday.
The Kay Builders Twin Run development at 4650 Indian Creek Road features a loop of twin houses on former farmland near the border of Emmaus.
As part of the approval, 1.31 acres will be donated by the development for recreation.
Some residents at Thursday's meeting expressed reservations about the approval, noting incomplete work on Kay Builders' Jasper Ridge development, also in the township.
Township solicitor Marc Fisher said municipal staff are "well aware" of the issues and have contacted the developers' counsel related to the concerns the day prior.
Supervisors noted that approval of the plan still was contingent on other outside permitting and approvals that would need to be completed before plans could be officially recorded at the courthouse and construction could begin.
Kay Builders developers said they were unsure when groundbreaking on the project would take place.
The houses would be in the East Penn School District, which is engaged in expansion plans as a result of population growth in the district.
