MACUNGIE, Pa. – The parade may have been canceled this year due to inclement weather, but the Macungie Halloween Parade Committee says the festival will continue this year with a new theme.
The Macungie Fall Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Macungie Memorial Park, 50 Poplar St.
Sarah Yost, assistant manager of Affiliated Chambers for East Penn Chamber of Commerce, said the fall theme was always the backup plan.
“We are thrilled to partner with such a dedicated group of Macungie volunteers. Working with local businesses and organizations like Macungie Memorial Park energizes our communities and spreads the feeling of camaraderie and joy,” she said in a press release.
According to the release, “Children can revel in pumpkin and fall-themed games with treats as prizes, while adults can engage in fun yard games like cornhole. Activities include a bounce house, a kids costume contest and parade, photo ops, and a live DJ.”

Entrance fee for the festival is $5 per family.
Margaret Young, the head of the Macungie Halloween Parade Committee, said the committee of volunteers spent a lot of time on plans for the event. And for very good reason.
“We hope families enjoy their time at the Fall Festival. The committee of volunteers spends hours planning this event so that we can allow our kids, our neighbors, and our town to be present in making a lasting memory.”
The festival features a “diverse selection of [food and beverage] options,” including Dough & Co, The Sticky Pig, Taco Town, Rising River Brewery, and many more.

The Macungie Halloween Parade returned last year after a 2-year hiatus. It was originally put on by the Lower Lehigh Lions Club. However, the club disbanded due to declining membership and a lack of community participation.
A volunteer group of local mothers stepped up to bring the parade - and the festival - back to life. This year’s rain certainly dampened spirits, but pumpkins and fall leaves live to see another day.
“The East Penn Chamber can’t wait to be a part of the 'unbe-leaf-able' fun taking place in Macungie this year!” said Yost.
