A-Treat has announced the launch of its Larry Holmes Cream Soda. For each bottle sold, A-Treat will donate 20% of proceeds to HeartOfALegend.org charitable foundation.

EASTON, Pa. — A quintessential Pennsylvania soda company is launching a new flavor inspired by a boxing legend straight out of Easton.

And if that's not a one-two punch of PA power, A-Treat also will contribute some of the proceeds from sales to a charity.

A-Treat announced the premiere of Larry Holmes Cream Soda, with 20% of proceeds from sales going to Holmes’s charitable organization HeartOfALegend.org.

“We’re honored to partner with the legendary Larry Holmes on this soda launch. We recognize the importance of giving back to the community that built us, and HeartOfALegend.org is paving the way for brighter futures in the Lehigh Valley and beyond.”

Founded by Holmes and his wife Diane, HeartOfALegend.org aims to enhance the well-being of individuals and families within their community — specifically those affected by illness or personal disasters.

“We’re honored to partner with the legendary Larry Holmes on this soda launch,” said David Jaindl, owner of Jaindl Beverage Company, which produces A-Treat.

“We recognize the importance of giving back to the community that built us, and HeartOfALegend.org is paving the way for brighter futures in the Lehigh Valley and beyond.”

A historic career

Born in Cuthbert, Georgia, and raised in Easton, Holmes, known as “The Easton Assassin,” was world heavyweight champion from 1978-85. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2008.

Holmes is well known throughout the city of Easton for his philanthropic work throughout the local community, including endeavors such as donating personal computers to Third Street Alliance for Women and Children.

“Larry always gives back to the community and it’s nice to see the Jaindl family doing something for him and his foundation.”

A-Treat has been a staple soft drink in the Keystone State since 1918, when brothers Joe and Jack Egizio brewed up their first batch of beverages.

After a short pause in production, A-Treat was purchased by the Jaindl Companies in 2015.

“Larry always gives back to the community and it’s nice to see the Jaindl family doing something for him and his foundation,” HeartOfALegend.org Vice President Tyrone Robinson said.

A-Treat’s Larry Holmes Cream Soda is now available at select retailers.
