EASTON, Pa. — It looks like Easton Restaurant Week is being set up for a sequel showcasing even more love for the city with the kickoff of “Easton Loves Local,” a celebration of downtown retailers.

Announced Friday, the new summer promotion will run from July 19 through July 24, featuring locally oriented downtown Easton retailers and their wares.

These unique offerings will be featured on the “Easton Loves Local” website and social media pages throughout the event.

Thus far, the Easton Loves Local site is touting Bellisima’s special white edition of their 610 baseball cap, Yellow Balloon Consignment is offering exclusive tote bags (which can score you additional discounts when you use them in the future), The Social Tour is doling out limited-run “I Love Easton” chalkborg shirts, Mercantile Home will have limited edition Easton map totes, and just about every other shop in the downtown will have their own specialties.

Getting hungry from all that shopping? Bank Street Creamery and Pie + Tart will have Key Lime P’icecream, as well as a Lemon Pound Cake with a dip of Lemon Lime Basil ice cream.

The event was inspired by the success of the city’s Restaurant Week, where patrons can enjoy special menu items from participating eateries.

Easton Loves Local aims to generate excitement around local stores with unique, limited-run items, inspiring shoppers to check out independent retailers and hunt for community treasures.

The celebration of small businesses is a product of Easton Main Street Initiative, a program which comes from the Greater Easton Development Partnership.

Easton Main Street Initiative aims “to promote, encourage and enhance the economic strength and vitality of Easton's central business district through volunteer and community driven efforts.”
