Actor Ja'Siah Young, who grew up in Easton, will be honored with the Easton Recognition Award at 2 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the main stage in Centre Square.

EASTON, Pa. — A young superpowered star from Easton will be honored with his own special day in the city’s Centre Square this weekend.

Actor Ja’Siah Young will be presented with the Easton Recognition Award by Mayor Sal Panto Jr. at the main stage of Centre Square’s Christmas Village at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.

Following the presentation, Young will join local kids for a free skating session at the Winter Village rink, starting at 2:30 p.m.

“He’s destined to go places. He’s a very mature young man for his age. He’s approachable, he loves to work with kids, and I think he’s going to have a good future.”

Young, who's only 13, already has accrued an impressive list of credits, appearing in television series "FBI: Most Wanted," "Alma’s Way," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Paramour No More."

Young skyrocketed in popularity when he took on the titular role for the Netflix series "Raising Dion."

The series features him as Dion Warren, a young man who begins to exhibit superpowers while his mother, played by actress Alisha Wainwright, deals with the normal trials and troubles of parenting paired with the necessity to keep her hero child safe from those out to exploit and harm him.

In 2025, Young’s latest project, Disney’s 'RoboGobo," will see him play the voice of Dax, a young inventor who takes in five homeless pets and provides them with superpowered robo-suits.

Just last year, Young received the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Performance by a Youth in a series, special, television movie, or limited series, for his role in "Raising Dion."

Panto said he would not be surprised to see Young starring in some Disney features soon.

“He’s destined to go places," Panto said. "He’s a very mature young man for his age. He’s approachable, he loves to work with kids, and I think he’s going to have a good future.”
