Saylors & Co. said its last day of business at Easton Public Market will be Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025.

EASTON, Pa. — A vendor known for its Pennsylvania raised pork and prime cuts of beef is ending operations at the Easton Public Market.

In a release Thursday, Saylors & Co. said its last day of business will be Sunday, Jan. 26.

“While the decision to close was a difficult one, it marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the family-owned business,” the release said, calling the closure part of a “thoughtful transition” as the owners prepare for retirement.

The butcher shop steeped in family tradition will be passed on from Tim Mease and Maria Verzino to their daughter, Eleni Garzon, who will continue to operate the flagship store in Hellertown.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have been part of the Easton Public Market — a place where flavors, food, and community come together in the most inspiring ways,” the release said.

“These couple square feet mean more to me than anyone will ever understand,” said Garzon of the space at the Easton Public Market.

“To close this chapter and move to the next has been heavy on my heart because of the beautiful community we have here in Easton. I am excited to bring new and updated ideas to our main shop in Hellertown.”

Saylors & Co. at 1105 Main St. in Hellertown will continue to operate its normal hours Tuesday through Saturday, the release said.

The location at the Easton Public Market opened on Aug. 6, 2020. It occupied the space that was vacated by butcher Dundore & Heister.

Tim Mease’s grandfather was Samuel Saylor, who operated Saylor’s Valley Brook Farm — a vendor at the Easton Farmers’ Market during the 1940s before establishing the butcher shop in Hellertown.
