ALLENTOWN, Pa. — An Allentown-area attorney is seeking a seat on Lehigh County Court in 2025.
Jenna Fliszar on Monday announced her campaign to become one of almost a dozen full-time judges in Lehigh County, where she’s practiced law for 14 years.
She owns Fliszar Law Office on Hamilton Boulevard and serves as a court-appointed attorney in cases involving the county’s Children and Youth Services office.
Flizsar also leads the litigation division for Bethlehem as the city’s assistant solicitor and advises its emergency services departments, according to a news release sent by her campaign.
A wide range of experiences "have shaped my deep respect for the rule of law and my commitment to fairness, compassion, and integrity."Jenna M. Fliszar, candidate for Lehigh County judge
That release highlights Fliszar’s “wide range of experience,” including her work with now-Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan to successfully defend South Whitehall Township Police Officer Jonathan Roselle, who fatally shot Joseph Santos in July 2018 near Dorney Park.
The township reportedly paid $950,000 in 2022 to settle a wrongful-death lawsuit filed by Santos’ family.
Fliszar is a Republican who plans to cross-file for both the Republican and Democrat nominations in the primary election.
'Dedication to every decision'
Fliszar said her work in criminal defense, municipal law and child advocacy means she would bring “a balanced perspective to the bench.”
“These experiences have shaped my deep respect for the rule of law and my commitment to fairness, compassion, and integrity,” she said in the release.
“As judge, I will bring this dedication to every decision, ensuring the needs and rights of all who come before the court are respected.”
Fliszar is due to take over as president of the Bar Association of Lehigh County in 2025 and serves on Lehigh Valley Pre-Trial Services’ board of directors.
She plans to formally launch her campaign Jan. 22 at Triple Sun Spirits in Emmaus.
It was not immediately clear if she plans to run as a Democrat or Republican.
Assistant District Attorney Patricia Fuentes Mulqueen launched her campaign for Lehigh County judge this month. Mulqueen is a Republican, but she plans to cross-file to appear on Republican and Democratic ballots.
The 2025 primary election is scheduled for May 20.
