ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Vice President Kamala Harris will spend her final day Monday campaigning in Pennsylvania, including an afternoon rally at Muhlenberg College in Allentown.
Harris will deliver remarks at Memorial Hall in the afternoon — the first of three stops before making appearances in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
Her opponent, former President Donald Trump, will hold a rally at the Santander Arena in Reading on Monday afternoon. Trump held a rally in Allentown last Tuesday.
This will be Harris' first visit to the Lehigh Valley as a presidential candidate.
State police have warned of potential traffic disruptions throughout the afternoon in the Lehigh Valley. Allentown schools are closed today.
A city spokesperson said the following roads will be closed starting at 10 a.m.:
- Tilghman Street, from Cedar Crest Boulevard to 23rd Street;
- 23rd Street, from Tilghman to Gordon streets;
- Liberty Street, from 23rd to 26th streets.
Thousands are expected for the Harris rally at Muhlenberg.
Only those with confirmed RSVPs to the rally will be granted access, according to the Harris-Walz campaign. Doors open at 11 a.m. and folks are being told to arrive no later than 2 p.m.
Organizers say ride-sharing and carpooling is recommended because of parking limitations around Muhlenberg College. A free shuttle will be running to and from the Allentown Fairgrounds, according to the campaign.
Scheduled to perform at the rally are rapper Fat Joe and singer Frankie Negron.
