BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Every Tuesday, Chris Borick, director of the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion, sits down with LehighValleyNews.com politics reporter Tom Shortell for Lehigh Valley Political Pulse on WLVR.
They discuss the latest trends emerging from science-based polls to break down local, state and national campaigns and issues.
In this episode, Chris and Tom move away from talk of the presidential race and shift gears to focus on statehouse races.
Borick reminds listeners that the state legislature, the state House is divided by a vote right now in Pennsylvania between the two parties, Democrats and Republicans.
"It's as close as it can be, so every race matters," he said.
One of those races is the 137th House district, where Republican Joe Emrick, the incumbent, is being challenged by Anna Thomas.
Borick also talks about overarching themes in the statehouse races, with national issues bleeding into the broader environment, and localized issues also having an impact.
Political Pulse airs throughout the day Tuesdays on 91.3 WLVR. You can listen to an extended version of the conversation here, by clicking the listen button above.
