The Lehigh Valley Zoo is seeking the community's help in naming their newest alpaca.

NORTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. — Will it be Woody, Tupaca or Zurg?

In collaboration with Lehigh Valley Reilly Children's Hospital and Lehigh Valley Health Network, Lehigh Valley Zoo is looking for the public's help to name its newest addition.

Born Aug. 22 to parents Illuminati and Havoc, a male alpaca is the newest animal to join the zoo's swath of animal residents.

Upon a veterinary examination the following day, the alpaca, also known as a "cria," was determined to be healthy and heavy, weighing a whopping 14 pounds.

His marks the second alpaca birth at the zoo within a year, arriving just a few weeks shy of his brother Buzz's first birthday on Sept. 12.

Now, the little guy needs a name.

A Sept. 1 post on the Zoo's Facebook page asks the public to brainstorm some name ideas.

Initial ideas included Rocky and Hershey Hairy Trexler — and the zoo eventually narrowed it down to four.

Choices are Woody, Tupaca and Zurg.

Now, a poll is live on Facebook, with results to be announced "soon."

So far, Tupaca is in the lead with 52% of the vote.

News of the baby alpaca's birth comes on the heels of some other new additions.

The much smaller and more agile Cosmo and Meeko, two red pandas from the Birmingham Zoo, made their debut at the park June 7.
