NORTH WHITEHALL, Pa.: Back in early August, Simba was saved from the ACCT Philly shelter. He was brought to them by a good samaritan after he was found with swollen limbs and open wounds. It was not immediately known what caused these injuries, but he was transferred to our care for further assistance and treatment.
It was determined he was suffering from a Staph infection that created large abscesses to form on his joints and caused dangerously high fevers. Simba's foster dedicated several times daily to massaging the limbs, stretching them, and balancing activity and exercise with plenty of rest. Doctors felt like he might lose two legs due to his injuries.
Simba had his good days and his bad days, but made a full recovery and did not have to have any amputations. He was adopted to a lovely couple who treats him like a prince. He loves toys and is enjoying his forever home very much! Go Simba!
