5 Things is very grateful today to a reader—you know who you are!—who emailed that they start their day reading our list of helpful information. We see you and we thank you!
So the weekend is fast approaching and it looks like it might just be a good one:
1. The National Weather Service at Mt. Holly, NJ, says there's a chance of frost early Friday but it will "warm up" to the low 60s later in the day.
2. Lots of Upper Mac residents turned out at a township planning commission meeting Wednesday to speak their minds about proposals that would bring almost 500 new homes to the area.
3. The Pfizer bivalent vaccine is now available for even our littlest ones. Parents must make the appointment with a Lehigh Valley Health Network provider.
4. Soon, the sale of dogs, cats and rabbits that come from breeding facilities will be banned in the City of Allentown. You can still adopt a pet from a rescue organization, though.
5. Coming up: In light of the election coming up in a couple of weeks, LehighValleyNews.com is hosting a debate here at the Univest Public Media Center in Bethlehem.
P.S.: It's National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day! 🎃🎃 That's right, a veritable dress rehearsal for what you'll be serving on Thanksgiving, yes? And just in case you don't happen to have one tattooed on your stirring arm, here's a recipe.
