BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies made a splash in MLB free agency recently with the signing of Trea Turner, then bolstered their rotation with the acquisition of pitcher Taijuan Walker.
Perhaps one (or both?) will be in Bethlehem next month when the Phillies Winter Caravan rolls into the Lehigh Valley, with participants set to be unveiled at a later date.

The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19 in the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, a news release from the Lehigh Valley IronPigs said Wednesday.
Held by IronPigs Charities, the Winter Caravan's previous guests have included some of the biggest names in the organization, including former manager Joe Girardi and first baseman Rhys Hoskins.
According to the release, the event will include food, a mystery ball drawing, a photo booth and a silent auction. IronPigs mascots FeRROUS and FeFe also are scheduled to attend.
Tickets for the Winter Caravan are available now at PhilliesWinterCaravan.com. Prices are $100 for a single ticket and $180 for a pair. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
IronPigs Charities supports educational and recreational opportunities for Lehigh Valley youth, focusing on diversity and inclusion.But it lost funding recently when Northampton County Council removed $50,000 of the $175,000 originally allocated to the 'Pigs.
The remaining $100,000 still will go to IronPigs Charities for improvements to Coca-Cola Park.
