Franklin Hill Winery of Bangor offered samples at the SangriaFest in 2023. Now, the festival is moving from Upper Macungie Township to its former location in Bethlehem.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — A popular event celebrating wine that six years ago became ArtsQuest's first festival outside of Bethlehem will return to SteelStacks in June, it was announced.

SangriaFest, which includes food, vendors, lawn games, live music and, of course, the namesake wine-and-fruit beverage, will be 2 p.m. June 21.

SangriaFest for the past two years — and in 2019 before that — was held at Grange Park in Upper Macungie Township.

In announcing the festival's return to SteelStacks, ArtsQuest did not give a reason it won't be held in Upper Macungie.

The Upper Macungie SangriaFest is significant because ArtsQuest rarely offers programming off its home SteelStacks campus in South Bethlehem.

The 2019 SangriaFest in Upper Macungie was the first time it ever held a festival outside of Bethlehem. It returned to Upper Macungie in 2023 after the coronavirus pandemic, and was offered there again last year.

Tickets, at $39 for general admission and $15 for designated drivers, went on sale Wednesday at the SteelStacks website and at the box office at ArtsQuest Center at 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.

The price for general admission tickets will rise to $44 on June 15.

Tickets include unlimited samples of 12 different sangrias, access to live music, lawn games, retail and food vendors.

VIP tickets, at $74 ($79 after June 15) and $35 for designated driver, offer an hour early access, unlimited samples of four VIP-exclusive sangrias, access to the VIP area and catered charcuterie and light bites.

Previous SangriaFests have offered up to 16 vineyards and wineries.

A list of participating vineyards and wineries has not been released. Applications for food and other venues still are being taken at the SteelStacks website.
