BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Brooks and Dunn, the country music Hall of Fame duo that had a dozen gold and platinum albums and more than 40 Top 10 Country chart hits before retiring in 2010, will reform for another tour, it was announced Monday.
And the duo will play Allentown’s PPL Center.
The duo of vocalists and songwriters Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn will perform a tour of 20 venues on its Reboot Tour, it was announced.
The PPL Center show will be June 28. Tickets will be available starting Friday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23 at PPLCenter.com.
Pre-sales start on Jan. 23.
It’s slated to be the fourth-last show of the tour.
Brooks and Dunn announced its retirement in August 2009 and performed its final concert on Sept. 2. The duo reunited in 2015 for a series of concerts with Reba McEntire in Las Vegas, but has not toured since.
The duo is best known for its 1992 hit “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and 1996’s “My Maria.”
They were solo recording artists before forming Brooks and Dunn in 1991.
They won the Country Music Association Vocal Duo of the Year award every year between 1992 and 2006, with the exception of 2000.
The duo has 20 No. 1 hits and has won two Grammy awards, dozens of Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association awards and has sold more albums than any other duo in history, regardless of genre, with more than 30 million sold.
In 2019 the duo was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in the “Modern Era Artist” category.
That year it also released its last album, “Reboot,” featuring re-recorded versions of 12 of the duo's songs, done as collaborations with other country music artists. It became the group’s eighth album to top the Country chart.
