ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Cirque du Soleil will return to Allentown’s PPL Center this spring for the first time in four years with a long-running show, it was announced Monday.
"Corteo," which Cirque du Soleil said has performed before 10 million spectators in 20 countries on four continents, will perform six shows March 28-31 at PPL Center. It will be the show's first time in Allentown.
Performances will be 7:30 p.m. March 28 and March 29, 3 and 7 p.m. March 30 and 1 and 5 p.m. March 31.
Tickets, the prices of which have not been announced, go on sale to Club Cirque members (free to join at clubcirque.com) at 10 a.m. today.
They go on sale to the public at cirquedusoleil.com/corteo, www.PPLCenter.com, 610-347-TIXX or at the PPL Center Box Office on Nov. 13.
"Corteo," which means cortege in Italian, is a joyous procession; a festive parade imagined by a clown. Cirque back where it started
The main character, a clown, pictures his own funeral taking place in a carnival atmosphere, watched over by quietly caring angels.
The production premiered in Montreal in April 2005.
The last Cirque show to perform at PPL Center was “Crystal,” Cirque du Soleil’s first show on ice, in June 2019.
PPL Center, which opened in 2014, brought Cirque shows to the Lehigh Valley for the first time.

"Corteo" also will return to the region at Philadelphia’s Liacouras Center from May 29 to June 2.
