QUAKERTOWN, Pa. — A hit country music act that canceled a show last summer at the Sounds of Summer Concert Series at Quakertown's Univest Performance Center has been announced as the first headliner of next summer's series.

LoCash, the duo of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas, which has had three Top 10 Country chart hits, including 2016's No. 1 "I Know Somebody," will perform at 6:30 p.m. July 19 at the amphitheater at 301 W. Mill St.

Tickets, at $35 for lawn seating to $120 for front-row seats, are available on the series' webpage.

Tickets bought for last year's show have automatically been transferred to the new date.

Those who can't attend the new date can request a refund by Monday, Dec. 11, by emailing concerts@quakertown.org with your name and order number or by calling the borough Parks and Recreation Department at 267-372-7275.

LoCash was to have performed Aug. 26 as part of this year's series, but the show was canceled at the last moment.

Hits and award nominations

LoCash, then called LoCash Cowboys, released its self-titled major-label debut album in 2013, which hit No. 25 on the Country chart.

But the duo found chart success with its 2016 sophomore disc, "The Fighters," which peaked at No. 14 and produced the platinum, No. 2 platinum hit "I Love This Life" and "I Know Somebody," which went gold.

In 2019, the duo hit No. 2 on the Country chart with "One Big Country Song," from its most recent album, 2019's "Brothers," which also went gold.

In 2017, it was nominated for the Academy of Country Music's New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year and the Country Music Association's Vocal Duo of the Year.

In 2022, it was nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year by both organizations.

It most recently released the singles “Let It Slide” with Leslie Jordan and Blanco Brown, and “Beach Boys,” featuring The Beach Boys’ Mike Love and Bruce Johnston.

Officials said more Sounds of Summer Series concerts are expected to be announced in coming weeks.

The series supports Quakertown’s revitalization efforts.

The Sounds of Summer series started in 2017 and will have its sixth year in 2024 (because of COVID, the series was not held in 2020).

Last year, Sounds of Summer presented Blue Oyster Cult, Chris Lane, Switchfoot, Clay Walker and The Hooters.
