ALLENTOWN, Pa. – It’s that time of year again when swimming pools and spray parks are getting ready to open around the Lehigh Valley.
Here’s a rundown of what’s open, when and what it will cost to get in. We’ve also included several locations that will be closed for the summer.

Allentown
Cedar Beach Pool

News & notes: The Irving Pool on the East Side was demolished last year and a new pool will include swim lap lanes, a whirlpool and a bathhouse but there’s no timeline for construction yet or a firm date for the pool to be finished.
The City of Allentown is partnering with D.H. Productions DJ's to bring the Dip-N-Dance ™ back this summer! There will be 10 dates this year starting June 10th.
The D.H. Productions Dip-N-Dance ™ program includes music, dancing, games and prizes and of course swimming!

For Memorial Pool and Neighborhood Pools, season pass holders can swim from noon to 1 p.m.
Pools are open 1-7 p.m. for all season pass holders, daily passes and both residents and non-residents.

News & notes: Memorial Pool will allow entry for Regional Pool Pass holders, City of Bethlehem residents, and resident guests. Adult residents (proof of residency required) can sponsor up to two non-resident guests to purchase daily passes.
Introductory swim lessons for children aged 4 -12 will also be held at Memorial Pool this year.
Catasauqua
News & notes: The Catasauqua Pool, which was closed for the 2022 season, will also not be open for the 2023 season because it needs extensive repairs.
At a borough meeting in February, RVE Engineering recommended that repairs not be made and that the pool not be put back in service. The engineering group also said any new pool should be built in a different location.
Council motioned to table any action on the pool during the meeting, and earlier this year it was revealed that years of deficit spending forced borough officials to raise property taxes 103%. The fate of the pool is currently unknown.
Coplay
Coplay Municipal Pool

News & Notes: The borough has not announced information for the 2023 season. In 2022, the pool was open in June from noon to 7 pm., in July from noon to 8 p.m., and in August from noon to 7 p.m. Season passes were available, with daily rates for residents and non-residents. No cost for people aged 62 and older (with identification) and children under 5.
Easton
Heil Pool

Eddyside Pool
Route 611 North near the intersection with Lafayette Street
Pools open June 3 and they will be alternating days again this year, with Heil open on Saturday and Eddyside open on Sunday.
News & Notes: Memberships are on sale through the YMCA. Hours are 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. or based on lifeguard availability. Residents and pool pass holders only will be admitted the first hour if there is only one pool available due to a lifeguard shortage.

Hanover Township, Northampton County
Plans for a new swimming pool in Hanover Township are moving along after the old one had cracked underground pipes and has been closed since 2019.
Officials hope to be finished with the new pool this year, with a “substantial completion” date of Nov. 20 listed on a projected timeline on the township website.
The new pool is expected to have a splash pad, slide, wading pool, underwater seating, zero-depth entry and lanes for competitive swimming.
Hellertown
Opening day is June 10.

The pool features adult lap swim, daily admission, diving board, infant/child pool with fountain (bromine treated), refreshment stand, swim lessons and more.
News & notes: New Pool Member Appreciation Day will be on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Members can join a Hawaiian Luau while the pool is still open for daily admission. They will receive a Lawaiian Luau lea, tattoo, a free food item and more.

The Nazareth Borough Pool is going to kick off the 2023 pool season on May 27, which follows its school district calendar.

Opens on Memorial weekend (May 27-29). Then summer season begins on June 7 through Aug. 6. The pool closes on Labor Day.
