WILSON, Pa. — Wilson Area School Board is scheduled Monday to vote whether to promote the district's director of curriculum and instruction to assistant superintendent.
The board's agenda for its meeting at 7 p.m. Monday lists a vote on whether to approve an assistant superintendent contract for Amy Austin that would run through June 30, 2030.
Austin previously was principal of Wilson Borough Elementary School for 10 years, and before that was an assistant principal in the district 2007-13.Amy Adams's LinkedIn profile
Austin has worked for the district for nearly 18 years, according to her LinkedIn resume, and has been in her current position since July 2023.
She previously was principal of Wilson Borough Elementary School for 10 years, and before that was an assistant principal in the district 2007-13.
Austin, a graduate of Lock Haven University, received a master's degree at Wilkes University and has a superintendent's letter of eligibility from Pennsylvania Western University, according to her LinkedIn profile.
The school board's Monday agenda does list a salary for Austin's new position.
The Wilson Area School District website does not list any employees who currently have the title of assistant superintendent.
Continuing administration change
The move would be among other recent change in the school district's administration.
Wilson Area School Board in July elevated Wilson Area High School Principal John Martuscelli to the job of acting superintendent.
His appointment runs through the end of June, “or as needed through that time period,” district Business Manager Stephanie Arnold, the school board's secretary, said at the time.
During that time, he will continue to work as the principal of Wilson Area High School — a position he has held since 1997.
Martuscelli is paid $202,000 a year in his acting role.
The previous superintendent, Douglas Wagner, retired at the end of July after more than two decades leading the district.
