Woman fatally hit by falling tree near Saucon Rail Trail

LOWER SAUCON, Pa. — A woman walking Wednesday on the Saucon Rail Trail in Lower Saucon Township was fatally struck by a falling tree, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said.

Robbin Mary Danko, 61, of Springfield Township, Delaware County, was pronounced dead in the emergency department of St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem, at 2:41 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, the office said in a release.

Danko was struck while walking the 1700 block of Valerie Lane, the release said.

Coroner Dan Buglio ruled her death an accident.

The coroner’s office and Lower Saucon Township Police Department are investigating the matter.
